Cedar Ridge Preserve Hike-A-Thon ~ Saturday, May 5th

March 27th, 2012

When you arrive at the Cedar Ridge Preserve, you’ll hardly remember that you’re in Dallas.  Carefully mulched and manicured hiking trails through beautiful woods passing through ponds, up hills, and with vistas overlooking Joe Pool Lake.  It’s a true treasure here in Dallas.

At an elevation of 755 feet, Cedar Ridge Preserve (formerly the Dallas Nature Center) is a slice of the hill country just 20 minutes from downtown Dallas. Cedar Ridge Preserve is a natural habitat of 600 acres featuring about 9 miles of trails, native trees, grasses and wildflowers, butterfly gardens, limited picnic areas and wild mammals, birds, insects and reptiles.

The Cedar Ridge Preserve is managed by Audubon Dallas, and they’re having their second annual Walk on the Wild Side Hike-A-Thon on Saturday, May 5th.  We need to do our part to preserve natural spaces like this in the Dallas area!
